What is Self-Muscle Testing?

Muscle testing is a way to tap into your body’s signals for YES or NO answers. Muscle testing is based on the theory that you can tap into your subconscious mind to get answers to questions about your mental and physical well-being. Essentially, the idea is that you will have a weak muscle response to something that does not enhance or sustain your body’s energy, and a strong response to something that is good for you.

I believe the skill of self-muscle testing is the new healing wave. More specifically, the skill to observe your own amazing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual processes is the basis for self-healing. You have the power to reprogram your body and mind. This ability to change your physiology is called neuroplasticity or bioplasticity.

Note: Since, I’m not a doctor, please don’t use self-muscle testing as a substitute for professional medical or psychiatric evaluation, or to diagnose serious mental or physical conditions.

What is Muscle Testing Used For? Almost everything.

  • Choosing foods or anything you put in or on your body.
  • Is this activity healthy for me?
  • Will this job bring me closer to my goals?
  • Body, is this ____ healthy or helpful for me today? Note: Tomorrow, next week or next month the body may want something different.
  • Body, is this event/action in my highest expression today?
  • Touching areas of the body to determine an area of weakness, stressors, or injury.
  • The more proficient you become, the more you can use this skill as guidance for almost anything.

What are the Methods to Self-Muscle Testing?

Remember you are creating new neural pathways so repeat the process at different times of the day, or after you have eaten or exercised. Notice how your body responds. It may roll to one side or do nothing with YES while NO may feel more noticeable. Take what your body is showing you and recheck daily as your body begins to create your unique muscle testing App pathways.

Q1: Body (or subconscious mind), show me what a YES looks like or feels like. YES, also means strong or what makes you stronger.

Q2: Body (or subconscious mind), show me what a NO looks like or feels like. NO, also means weak or what will make you weaker.

Standing Sway and Tilt:

    1. Stand up straight with relaxed hips and legs.
    2. Ask Q #1. Notice how your body responds to the question. Usually YES is a sway or tilt forward. However, YES could feel like tingling in your hands, a lean to either side or any other change in sensation.
    3. Ask Q #2. A NO is typically a backwards tilt or sway but when beginning this process, you could receive something different.

Lying Down:

    1. Lie down on your back. Relax your whole body. Take a few deep breaths and exhale completely.
    2. If you still feel unfocused, try inhaling deeply then hold your breath and squeeze all the muscles in your body. Repeat the sequence 2 more times.
    3. Bring your focus to your heart and chest area and notice what it feels like to breath normally.
    4. Now ask Q #1. Observe your body’s response. Most people feel an expansion of sorts with the YES.
    5. Ask Q #2. You many notice a constriction or tightening somewhere with the NO. Pay particular attention to your heart, chest and solar-plexus area.

Circle and Point:

    1. Make a circle with the thumb and ring finger of your non-dominant hand.
    2. Insert the index finger of the other hand into this circle.
    3. Squeeze the circled fingers closed.
    4. Ask Q #1 then with your index finger press across toward the closed fingers.
    5. With a YES, the circle stays closed, keeping the index finger from breaking through and opening the pressed fingers.
    6. Ask Q #2 and press into the closed finger. Usually with a NO the thumb and forefinger cannot hold closed—they weaken and open.
    7. If you receive little response, don’t worry. Try another method. The hand methods are trickier and may take more time to program.

Double Circle and Pull:

  1. Make a circle with the thumb and ring finger of each hand and interlock them together like a figure 8.
  2. Hold light tension with circled fingers.
  3. Ask Q #1 and try to pull the circled fingers apart. With a YES, they should hold strong and not slip apart.
  4. Ask Q #2 and try to pull the circled fingers apart. A NO answer usually weakens the pathway, opening the fingers.
  5. If you receive little response, don’t worry. Try another method. The hand methods are trickier and may take more time to program.

Finger Rubbing:

    1. Lightly touch the pads of the index finger and thumb of one hand together.
    2. As you ask questions, lightly slide the pads across each other.
    3. Ask Q #1. A YES response allows the pads slide smoothly with no resistance.
    4. Ask Q #2. With a NO response the pads stick against each other and don’t slide due to resistance.
    5. This can also be done by rubbing both hands against each other.
    6. If you receive little response, don’t worry. Try another method. The hand methods are trickier and may take more time to program.

One Handed: My favorite!

    1. Place the pad of the middle finger of one hand on the top of the nail of the indexfinger on the same hand—slightly crossing the fingers..
    2.  The index finger is straight with the middle finger bending to touch it.
    3. Ask Q #1. Press down on the index finger with the middle finger. A YES answer enables the index finger to stay straight.
    4. Ask Q #2. Press with the middle finger. A NO weakens the index finger causing it to bend downward.
    5. If you receive little response, don’t worry. Try another method. The hand methods are trickier and may take more time to program.

Ask. Listen and observe. Try practicing these methods at different times of the day for a week and note any changes or shifts in any aspect of your life.

There is much more information to come on this topic which is so dear to my heart.  I’m currently writing a new book called Your Body Knows the Answer: Renew Your Vitality and Love Your Life, A Manual for Self-Muscle Testing. I’m hoping to have a PDF version available by Christmas of 2025.

Wishing each of you happiness, peace, and health!

Infinite love,

Kaye
