I Await a Guardian

Expecto Patronum is the command of protection against dark spirits, made famous by Harry Potter. It translates, from Latin, meaning I await a Guardian. In this case the guardian turns out to be Harry saving himself. The same is true when we chant the opening Adi Mantra in Kundalini Yoga, Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, we are calling upon or bowing to, the wisdom within ourselves. Other yogis use the Gayatri Mantra to initiate practice. It means, “O Divine mother, our hearts are filled with darkness. Please make this darkness distant from us and promote illumination within us.”

The skill to master is that of protection and stepping into, for many, the roll of guardianship – the protection of self, others, our planet, and our soul families.

In the book, The Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling, Harry and Hermoine travel back and forth in time with the aid of a Time-Turner. Harry’s future self shouts the verbal command “Expecto Patronum,” also known as the Patronus spell, to save his past self from the death kiss of the Dementors by the lake.  Later, when he and Hermoine escape on Buckbeak, he says very excitedly, “It was me. I saw myself conjuring the spell (the Patronus spell). I knew I could do it because, well … I had already done it. Does that make sense?”

It makes perfect sense in this timey-whimey, maze-like ascension cycle we find ourselves trying to negotiate within – it’s like we all have our own Time-Turner but don’t know it or how to use it. It’s all about us discovering who we are, that we possess power within the jurisdiction of Divine Law. What’s more, we are the sovereign director of what happens to our body, mind and energy field. What’s more, when we call out for protection in 3D or 5D, it’s our 8D self or even higher aspects which respond. We are calling forth the power from ourselves in the future. J.K. Rowling brilliantly illustrates this in her novels.

Facing Our Own Dementors

This energy update speaks to the necessity for us to face our own Dementors, and inner demons. This becomes a slippery slope game. While we are tasked to clear and heal our emotional, physical and karmic bodies, we cannot spend too much time wallowing. There seems to be a tipping point around just how much we can permit ourselves to experience emotional or mental pain or suffering.

Once we pass the threshold of simply experiencing it to fixating or dwelling upon the issue, we begin to attract more of the same dark or darker energies. Suddenly we are beset upon by negative energies swooping in like Harry’s Dementors. We know they are there because we begin to feel hopeless, depressed, angry, vengeful or an amplified version of that which what we are attempting to free ourselves.

“The dementors affect you worse than the others because there are horrors in your past that others don’t have.”
Professor Lupine says to Harry in J.K. Rowling’s, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

“Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they can’t see them. Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you. If it can, the Dementor will feed on you long enough to reduce you to something like itself — soul-less and evil. You’ll be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

I felt weird, like I’d never be cheerful again…—Ron, about the Dementor

The level of dark or negative energies we may experience is directly proportional to the level of harm, dysfunction and lack of love we experienced. Conversely, thanks to the law of polarity that governs our 3D world, we then possess the equal and opposite power to experience and reach to higher levels of joy and love. Our emotional range expands.

So many of my friends and colleague’s have validated this fact. The goal then becomes a step-by-step journey of transforming our greatest weaknesses into our greatest strengths.

In the case of Harry Potter – as a baby he experienced unspeakable violence when he witnesses the murder of his parents. But, as a young man confronts his demons and associated Dementors and becomes one of the most powerful wizards at his school, where he is revered for his courage and abilities that consequently developed. Ultimately, he saves himself and in the process saves everyone at his school and the entire Wizard community.

How to Save Yourself Without a Wand

Your word is your wand. Your will is the power behind your word. Learning to claim your space and set up energetic protection just takes practice and patience. Knowing you are a Sovereign being, entitled to live free, according to Cosmic Law is the key. Claim your right as a guardian. REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE! REMEMBER! REMEMBER! You are DIVINE, SOVEREIGN AND FREE. Simply stating, “I am divine, sovereign and free,” will empower you to not only find your path but be able to walk it safely with strength and wisdom.

Remember who you are. Clear your traumas. Dissolve your resistance. Reprogram your triggers. Heal your heart. Trust that your own guardian aspects and Avatar Self will do all the rest. They will be there for you when you holler into the night, EXPECTO PATRONUM!

As always, my wish is for you to recognize the brilliance of who you are and awaken to the Avatar inside.  As varying beings, from varying cosmic histories, our perspectives may vary while some may be the same. We are all learning to negotiate this new way of living together. So, please take what resonates with you and let the rest go.

With infinite love,

Kaye
